What is addy?
We are a real estate investing platform for everyone. Many Canadians don’t have the chance to invest in Real Estate due to the sheer expense of it or they’re unable to qualify for a mortgage. Real Estate is one of the best asset classes out there and many Canadians can’t afford to invest in real estate.
How Does Investing with addy Work?
Essentially, addy purchases a property after conducting our due diligence. We don’t just buy any property – we ensure the property is just the right fit. We then offer the chance to invest in 49% of the property’s value through our platform. You can invest as little as $1.00.
Is addy Legal?
Yes, we’re legal! We’ve retained Fasken Martineau as our law firm. Keith Spencer (partner at Fasken) sits on our board. We’ve built a structure that makes this type of investing legally. Our method enables non accredited investors the chance to invest.
Is This Type of Investing Safe?
We own 51% of each property, so ultimately, we’re taking the biggest risk. As such, we conduct a lot of research before we purchase any property. And, we run potential purchases through our investment committee – we have both regional and national committees.
How Little Can I Invest?
As little as $1. As an example, we have a Trout Lake property which was purchased at 1.6 million dollars. In that property, we have 308 investors, with the median investment at $1,200.
How Long Until I Realize a Return? And, What Kind of Returns Can I Expect?
Each property is different. In the Trout Lake property described above – it may take three to four years. The next property might be a 5-year hold.
