Can you believe it’s technically spring? The weather in the Lower Mainland may not be cooperating, but that shouldn’t stop you from planning out your calendar this season with some of these great events happening over the next few weeks.


North Vancouver Spring Home Expo — March 23 to 25

Springtime equals home renovation time. Browse 100-plus exhibits and consult local professionals on all your plans for decorating and remodelling — whether its fixing up an old bathroom or putting in a completely new kitchen, this is where you want you want to be. Taking place over three days at Karen Magnussen Arena on the North Shore. Admission is free.


Golden Easter Celebration — April 1

Have you visited Vancouver’s last new waterfront neighbourhood, the River District? Bordering the Fraser River, the up-and-coming area is holding its free, all-ages Golden Easter Celebration from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on April 1, featuring a gold-foiled egg hunt, face painting, giant chocolate bunny draw, balloons, treats and more.


World Ski and Snowboard Festival — April 10 to 15

Chances are you if you live in Greater Vancouver, winter sports are at least a part-time hobby. The World Ski and Snowboard Festival is North America’s largest celebration of snow sports, music, arts and mountain culture, and it’s happening next month at Whistler. Tickets are sold for individual events and can be purchased from the website.

2018 Spring Art Show and Sale — April 21 to 22

Fancy some new artwork to brighten up your home or office? Presented by the South Surrey and White Rock Art Society, the two-day show and sale boasts over 60 artists selling hundreds of original art works in various media forms and styles.

The Blockchain Revolution — April 25

It seems like everyone is talking about digital currency these days, but it still remains a mystery to most. Get out of the dark by attending this discussion hosted by Business in Vancouver. Topics will revolve around the emerging technology of Blockchain, the digital ledger of transactions in which transactions made in a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin are recorded, poised to transform the financial industry. The panel is moderated by BIV editor in chief Kirk LaPoint.
