Wreaths aren’t just for Christmas, at least not when they’re made out of V-Day cards. Personalize them by writing on the inside. Arrange into a pleasing shape and hang on a wall or the front door.
Romantic couch cushions
Make the couch even more cozy and replace the regular pillow covers with Valentine Day themed ones — plain red will do in a pinch. Or, swap out the pillows entirely for occasion-specific varieties. Add a cute decorative sign for bonus points (cat optional).
Candy heart vase
Skip a plain Jane vase and choose a candy heart-filled jar instead to hold a single red rose: both effective and delicious. You can also pour water into a small receptacle and hide that inside the jar to keep the flower hydrated.
Mantle banner
Head to the craft store and pick up a spool of string or ribbon, something to draw on, i.e. paper or canvas, and markers. Then get creative and put together a special message for your boo. Don’t be afraid to experiment with colours and materials.
Heart-shaped candleholder
Easily found in stores, you can also turn this into a fun DIY project. Completely paint over the outside of Mason jar, leaving in a few heart-shaped windows for the light to shine through. Or do the same using glitter and glue for a sparklier effect.
Hot chocolate station
Nothing sets the mood on a cold winter’s night like a steaming cup of cocoa. Turn a corner of the kitchen or living room into a hot chocolate station featuring all the toppings like whipped cream and mini marshmallows.
