The Westmar Story

History

Westmar opened in late 1990, when few experts in the real estate industry believed there was room in the market for a new firm. But founders Glenn Temes and Gary Craig knew there was a better way to help real estate agents achieve better performance and service through modern infrastructure and support resources – and that the only way to do it was to branch out on their own.

Despite intense competition among established firms, Westmar Realty had attracted over 30 real estate agents and rapidly outgrown its first Richmond office within just a few months. Believing Westmar could grow to over 100 agents, Glenn and Gary purchased the Richmond Macdonald Realty office and bought a dedicated building to support the continued growth of the newly renamed Macdonald Realty Westmar. By continuing to focus on its strong real estate agent support system as the foundation of the firm, Macdonald Realty Westmar became the largest real estate office in Richmond by its 10th anniversary, by both number of agents and sales volume. The firm still maintains this dominant position and has over 200 excellent agents on the team.

Long-time Westmar agent Vern Jurovich purchased Macdonald Realty Westmar in 2013 and will continue to strengthen the system that allows its agents to achieve peak performance in customer satisfaction and sales volume year after year.
